The Police Region North, located in Luleå, Norrbotten county, has announced a job opening for the position of Group Leader. The application deadline is 14th September 2023.
Job Description
The Group Leader will be responsible for the implementation of the local police area’s mission and driving the agency’s change and development work. They will have a special responsibility for both the group and the entire local police area’s activities in the area of BF/IGV and its results. The Group Leader will represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.
Being a manager and leader within the Police Authority means creating security and building trust by exercising sincere, courageous, and responsive leadership with trust in the competence and ability of others. The Group Leader will drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that assumes we follow the law and treat people equally. They will create the conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to acting together based on what is best for the citizens and the mission as a whole.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
- At least 6 months of continuous experience as a supervisor, project manager, or similar
- Ability to participate in change and development work
- Experience in a current field of activity such as crime prevention and crime fighting work
- Police training according to Ordinance (2014: 1105) on training to be a policeman
It is considered meritorious if the candidate also has:
- Experience in leading others towards set goals and results
- Inclusion in management forums
- Management and leadership training for direct, indirect, and/or strategic level
- Experience in participating in/driving collaboration with social actors outside the police organization /the own organization
- Broad experience of police operations
- Experience of working within a team with shared leadership
The selection process will also include tests to assess the candidates.
