Police Region Mitt is Hiring Group Managers for Crime in a Close Relationship Investigations

Police Region Mitt, located in Gable, Gävleborg County, is currently accepting applications for the position of Group Manager for Crime in a Close Relationship (BINR) investigations. The application deadline is October 6, 2023. This is a significant opportunity for individuals with a police degree or relevant academic education, as well as experience in supervision or management.

Police Region Mitt is the largest police authority in Sweden, with approximately 2,300 employees. This authority is currently undergoing extensive growth to meet future challenges. The region consists of three police areas, with Gävleborg being one of them. The area encompasses 10 municipalities and is divided into two local police areas: Hälsingland and Gästrikland.

The BINR groups primarily handle criminal investigations involving victims under 18 years of age and victims over 18 years of age. They work closely with each other and other groups within the section to investigate violent crimes, crimes against persons, sexual crimes, and other related offenses. The majority of cases are led by prosecutors, and collaboration between the police and prosecutors is actively encouraged for effective crime prevention and resolution.

As a Group Manager for BINR investigations, the selected candidate will report to the Section Manager and be part of the investigation section’s management team. The role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to drive development and change, and the capacity to represent the Police Authority internally and externally.

Candidates must possess a police degree or relevant academic education. Additionally, at least 6 months of continuous experience in supervision, project management, or similar roles within the last five years is required. Experience in the police organization’s operations and participation in change and development work is also necessary.

The selected candidate will enjoy a permanent employment position as a group manager, with the opportunity for a trial employment period of six months. The location for this position is in Gävle.
