Group Manager Positions Available in Skåne County Police Authority

The Skåne County Police Authority has announced open positions for group managers in their intelligence unit. The positions are available in two locations, Helsingborg and Lund, and applicants must apply by 20 November 2023 using the reference number A635.537/2023.

The Skåne County Police Authority is the largest authority in Sweden, employing approximately 36,000 individuals. The intelligence unit in the South region is responsible for carrying out operational and strategic intelligence activities aimed at preventing, detecting, and combating criminal activities. The main responsibilities include acquiring, processing, and analyzing information and data to provide intelligence to decision-makers within the Police Authority.

The authority is now seeking group leaders for two analysis and handling groups within the intelligence section of the South region. Intelligence Group 12 is responsible for the North-western Scania police area, located in Helsingborg, while Intelligence Group 13 covers the Southern Scania police area, located in Lund.

The group leaders will report to the head of the section and will be part of the management team responsible for completing assignments and driving the agency’s change and development work. The group leaders will have personnel and operational responsibilities for a group of approximately 10-15 employees. They will lead staff in collecting, processing, and analyzing information, as well as cooperate with other authorities. Additionally, they will participate in the strategic and operational management group, review and quality-assure products, and contribute to the development and implementation of new methods.

To be eligible for these positions, applicants must have a background in police training or an academic degree relevant to the function, as well as at least 6 months of continuous experience in a supervisory or project management role within the last five years. Swedish citizenship is also required.

Previous experience in leading others towards goals and results, participation in management forums, and experience in intelligence operations will be considered advantageous. The selection process will include completion of selection questions and assessments based on the Police Authority’s leadership criteria.
