Five people suspected of being part of a group that robbed elderly people’s homes were arrested by the Civil police in Araçatuba, in the interior of São Paulo. The arrests were made last Friday, the 15th, as part of Operation Senes. At the time, nine search and seizure warrants and four arrest warrants were executed. During the action, agents seized two vehicles, a crowbar, a balaclava and jewelry. According to São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the group would have committed at least eight crimes in the last half of the year. According to the ministry, the teams went to the suspects’ homes and arrested three other people with a temporary arrest warrant and two for drug trafficking. As two people were already in preventive detention, the operation resulted in seven people being captured. The group was detained at the locations and taken to judicial police procedures.
