About the Community Kitchens Network:

The Network of Community Kitchens in Grande Bom Jardim was created based on the “Participatory Map for Combating Hunger in Grande Bom Jardim” (the final report can be accessed HERE), currently having 24 community kitchens.

According to the Grupo Diálogos Urbanos Unilab, “The Participatory Map verified the importance of strengthening and developing the Network of Kitchens, consolidating it as a political-technical instance capable of promoting the sustainability of community kitchens. In addition, it can dialogue with public managers and parliamentarians, in order to affirm the right to food, health and life; and guiding recommendations, demands and proposals, affecting budgets and public policies, as well as articulating emergency actions to combat hunger and structuring – in the medium and long term – food security and sovereignty.”

Thus, the project “Strengthening the RCCGBJ” has the following objectives: to foster the RCCGBJ’s participatory strategic planning; consolidate and develop collective instances and dynamics and encourage social bonds, commitments and individual, collective and inter-institutional pacts; streamline propositional dialogue with civil and political society; and strengthen public power monitoring and the Network’s ability to affect and access public policies.
