The CyberLeak Controversy and Upcoming Release
The debut follows a turbulent week defined by security breaches. A hacking group known as CyberLeak posted over a dozen extended gameplay clips and reportedly leaked the entire map of the State of Leonida. Reports indicated the group’s motive was to protest rumors of a digital-only release strategy and anti-consumer practices.
In response, Rockstar Games addressed the breach in a letter published to social channels, stating that having the gameplay leak in such a manner was heartbreaking for the development team and not how they intended players to experience the game.
