He is responsible for one of the largest hacker attacks in recent gaming history – now the “GTA 6” hacker Arion Kurtaj (18) has been sentenced to a lifelong hospital stay.

What happened? In September, Kurtaj, a member of the hacker group “Lapsus$”, broke into the systems of the game manufacturer “Rockstar Games” from a hotel room. His goal: gameplay scenes from what is probably the most hotly anticipated game of the past ten years: “GTA 6”. Kurtaj then published a total of 15 minutes of material on the Internet.

Now Arion Kurtaj has been convicted in Great Britain. This is reported by the “BBC”. However, instead of going to prison, he ends up in a clinic.

Kurtaij suffers from acute autism. He was therefore declared unfit to stand trial. The jury therefore only decided whether he committed the crimes or not. Whether he acted intentionally with criminal intent was left out.

The Briton is also accused of repeatedly becoming violent during his imprisonment. There are reports of dozens of injuries and property damage.

A psychiatric report shows: The gambler is still “highly motivated” to return to cybercrime as soon as possible.

According to the report, he poses a high risk to the public. He will remain in a secure clinic until doctors no longer consider him dangerous.

In addition to Kurtaj, another 17-year-old member of “Lapsus$” was also found guilty and sentenced to 18 months of juvenile rehabilitation.

Both were convicted during the same six-week trial at Southwark Crown Court in the United Kingdom. The hacker group “Lapsus$” had attacked companies such as Microsoft, Nvidia, Samsung, Ubisoft, T-Mobile (USA), Cisco, Uber, Revolut and the British mobile operator “EE” and demanded millions in ransoms.
