The son of an entrepreneur, shot dead at his home last week in Guadeloupe, has been indicted. He is accused of “complicity in murder” and imprisoned, the Pointe-à-Pitre prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday.

The young man indicted is 17 years old, according to local media.

Questions about motive

Video surveillance cameras established that several people were on the scene at the time of the incident, at least one of whom was carrying a firearm, the prosecutor said. The autopsy of the body confirmed that the victim died from a gunshot wound. Chain Guadeloupe 1st, beyond theft, reminds us that the question of motive remains. The prosecutor has for the moment simply stated on this subject that “the investigation is continuing”.

Placed in police custody, the entrepreneur’s son was brought before an investigating judge who indicted him for “complicity in murder linked to armed robbery, and complicity in attempted armed robbery”. The judge of freedoms and detention placed him in pre-trial detention, also indicated the Pointe-à-Pitre prosecutor.
