The Spanish Pep Guardiola, the English coach of Manchester City, today, Friday, shocked his team’s fans, after revealing the duration of the absence of the team’s midfielder, Rodri.
Guardiola confirmed, “Rodri will miss Manchester City for the rest of the season’s matches after suffering a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee.”
Guardiola said, “Rodri underwent surgery earlier today to treat this injury.”
He added, “We do not have a player who offers us what Rodri offers, but all the other players can compensate for what this star has given us since his arrival.”
He concluded: “We, as a team, must find a way to play during many months without an important player like Rodri.”
Rodri was one of the most prominent names who helped the Spanish national team win the European Cup in Germany last summer, which was the fourth coronation for Spain in the history of the tournament.
Since joining from Atletico in 2019, Rodri has participated in 174 Premier League matches with the club, losing only 19 times during that period compared to 129 wins.
