Guatemala granted humanitarian stay to 207 Mexicans who were displaced for the violence in Chiapasmainly children and adolescents, who fled the context generated by criminal groups.
On Tuesday, July 23, a criminal group attacked the town of San José, in the municipality of Amatenango de la Frontera, an event that caused the displacement of at least 500 people, who migrated from the Chiapas mountain range towards Guatemala.
In this regard, the Guatemalan government reported the arrival of Mexicans mainly in the municipality of Cuilco, as well as in the department of Huehuetenango, and in Chiantla, areas that are located near the border with Motozintla and other municipalities in the Sierra.
