On December 28, the Baku Court of Appeal heard the appeal filed by economist Gubad Ibadoglu’s lawyers about the rejection of the appeal.
On December 19, the Narimanov District Court of Baku did not accept the petition of the lawyers regarding the transfer of Gubad Ibadoglu to the treatment facility of the Ministry of Justice.
Lawyer Zibeyda Sadygova told about this.
According to him, the court upheld the decision of the Narimanov District Court and the appeal was not satisfied.
“We applied to the Narimanov district court regarding the health of Gubad Ibadoglu. We requested that the attitude of the General Medical Department be considered illegal. Because Gubad Ibadoglu has serious health problems. But our complaints were never taken seriously. Also, we requested that Gubad bey be immediately transferred to a treatment facility. He has limited mobility due to back pain. It was in the detention center that the doctor advised him to be given steel. After we brought it, it still hasn’t been given. We have applied in this regard. The Narimanov district court generally refused to accept our appeal. Although we talked about the essence there. We also appealed against that decision. The same complaint had already been submitted once, it was considered on its merits and a decision was made. The appeal was also considered in the Baku Court of Appeal. Now there are two different decisions of one court. In one of them it is stated that you can complain to the General Medical Office, while in the other court decision the court said that no, you cannot complain. Although our complaints were legal, the Baku Court of Appeal upheld the decision,” the lawyer noted.
According to him, the chairman of ADR Party, professor Gubad Ibadoglu also participated in the trial.
“Gubad Ibadoglu also spoke in court. In his speech, he informed the court about his health and the medical service in the detention center,” he said.
