The various points dedicated to the payment of direct social assistance in the province are indeed experiencing a significant influx of beneficiaries of the first tranche of this humanitarian and solidarity initiative, which is part of the implementation of the high royal instructions aimed at extending social protection to large categories of citizens.
In statements to MAP, the beneficiaries of the aid expressed their gratitude for the high concern that HM King Mohammed VI shows towards the disadvantaged social classes in order to enable them, as well as their family members, to have a stable income.
They also welcomed the monthly financial support, which will enable them to lead a decent life and meet their needs, welcoming the good conditions in which this operation is taking place and expressing their hope that this support will contribute to improving their living conditions.
For his part, the head of the social protection department in the wilaya of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, Rachid Habta, indicated that the number of beneficiaries of the first tranche of direct social assistance in the province of Guelmim reached 19,227 people among the citizens who filed applications to benefit from this support, or 5,647 families representing 28% of the total number of families targeted and registered in the Unified Social Register (RSU).
He noted that this process is taking place under good conditions, adding that Guelmim, like all the provinces of the Kingdom, is working for the proper implementation of this important social project.
Mr. Habta also noted that the process of registering citizens goes through several stages, starting with the National Population Register (RNP) and the RSU, then the submission of an application to benefit from direct social assistance.
The various administrative offices responsible for registering for the RNP and RSU are experiencing a high number of citizens wishing to benefit from this valuable financial support.
During a tour of the administrative annexes of Guelmim, MAP noted the good organization of this process, in particular the orientation and support of citizens and the simplification of the various procedures linked to this important social project.
Many citizens welcomed the efforts made by local authorities to assist them in completing administrative procedures.
The direct social assistance scheme, which intervenes in application of the high royal guidelines contained in the speech of HM King Mohammed VI addressed to Parliament on the occasion of the opening of the 1st session of the 3rd legislative year of the 11th legislature, is a national program which aims to improve the living conditions of families with children of school age or in vulnerable situations, and not benefiting from family allowances, in order to support their purchasing power.
Mobilizing an annual budget that will increase from 25 billion dirhams (MMDH) in 2024 to 29 MMDH in 2026, this program will contribute, in particular, to the implementation of the “income of dignity for the elderly”, “family allowances for all households” and “lifelong support for people with disabilities”.
