Guinea-Bissau: Presidential-initiated government could deepen the political crisis

The Guinean president, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, says he will form a new government this week, which for nalists will deepen the political crisis.

Sissoco Embaló made the announcement yesterday, 10th, after his participation in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which took place in Abuja, capital of Nigeria, which analyzed the situation in Guinea -Bissau.

One of the salient notes of the final ECOWAS communiqué has to do with the need for “transparent, law-abiding investigation into the events, and the rapid resumption of the functioning of all national institutions”.
