Guinea-Bissau welcomes the initiative of HM the King promoting access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic
Laayoune – The Bissau-Guinean Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities, Carlos Pinto Pereira, welcomed the enlightened initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI within the framework of the African Atlantic States Process, aimed at making the African Atlantic space a geostrategic framework for pragmatic cooperation and consultation.
In a joint statement published on Tuesday, following his talks in Laayoune with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, the head of Guinea-Bissau diplomacy praised the opportunity offered by the Royal Initiative for the Sahel, which aims to strengthen regional integration by facilitating the access of the Sahel States to the Atlantic Ocean by connecting them to the transport and communication networks of their regional environment.
Addressing regional and international issues of common interest, the two ministers noted with satisfaction the convergence of their points of view on the various issues raised.
Furthermore, they reiterated their determination to participate in efforts for the peaceful settlement of disputes in Africa and praised the constant efforts made by Morocco, under the wise and enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in favor of development and regional integration in the Continent.
