Guinean football is in mourning after the death of Salifou Camara, known as ”Super V”, the former president of the Guinean Football Federation (FGF). He died in Paris, France, after a long illness, his family say, leaving an indelible legacy in the world of football in Guinea.
An emblematic figure of this world, the businessman fought courageously against the disease in France, but unfortunately he lost this battle. Known for his fierce fighting, Super V was kicked out of the Féguifoot presidency, but he continued to fight to control this presidency even by proxy. It is also said that he rarely loses his fights.
His appointment, in 2019, during the crisis within Féguifoot, by President Alpha Condé on the board of directors of a commercial structure, was not much further from football.
Suffice it to say that the cancellation of Super V, close to former Prime Minister Kassory Fofana, is a huge loss to the world of sports in Guinea. His dedication and passion for football will always be remembered, making him a true legend of Guinean football.
