Guinea is a hit in Accra!

The 3rd edition of the Zone 2 African Junior Swimming Championships took place in Accra, Ghana from 18 to 20 August. With 27 West and Central African countries competing, Guinean swimmer Djenabou Jolie Bah won eight medals.

Initiated by the African Amateur Swimming Confederation, the African Junior Championships by zone put young boys under 18 and girls under 17 in competition. They are organized as part of the qualifiers for the great edition of the African Junior Championships.

On the first day of August 18 alone, Guinea won seven medals. Through his performances and best time achievements, Fodé Amara Camara won one gold and one silver medal. Five medals, including three silver and two bronze, were won by Djenabou Jolie Bah, only 13 years old.

At the end of the competition, Fodé Amara Camara added a new silver medal to his counter while Jolie Bah added three bronze to his list. This brings to eleven the number of medals won by Guinea in these championships, including one gold, seven bronze and three silver.

With this harvest, Guinea was ranked 5th out of the 27 countries that took part in this meeting in Accra. Remember that this 3rd edition of the Zone 2 African Junior Swimming Championships is decisive for the 15th edition of the African Junior Championships which will take place from December 6 to 10 in Mauritius.
