I admit that in the context of the possible candidacy of President GMD, after the adoption by referendum of the new Constitution from the point of view of Law if the Constitution does not renew, in its transitional provisions, the provisions relating to ineligibility of the members of the CNRD, the CNT and the Government provided for by the Transition Charter, I do not see any perjury. However, man will be faced with himself, that is to say with his own morality. In this scenario, we find ourselves back at square one or in the ex ante situation, that is to say in the same configuration of the famous third mandate still criticized by some.

But, what is obvious, as a great French politician reminded us: “Virtue is nonsense in politics! » Each order has its own morality!

Personally, I had no problem with the third mandate of the PrAC, even if I was almost inactive. Here is President Adama Barow of the Gambia who spoke of only three (years) in the five-year term where he was elected by default because of the detention of his mentor, a bit like Sonko-Diomaye Faye. The rest we know; it is against this same mentor Dabo that our Barow returned for a 2nd term which is still running. The case of Macky Sall who also wanted to shorten the seven-year term under which he was elected and was subsequently rejected by the Constitutional Council. The examples never end.

Furthermore, for me, the greatest fear of a possible candidacy of President GMD is the most complete expression of the failure of this Transition to establish and ensure the establishment of true republican institutions capable of guaranteeing democracy. . As it was said by Jerry Jhon Rawlins that we will produce laws that “even if it is the devil who came after us, he will not be able to change anything”. We all wanted the latter, so let’s work towards that!

Already warning signs of fiasco are perceptible with the method of developing the preliminary draft or preliminary proposal of the Constitution, with prescriptions that no informed jurist would have introduced into such a founding text strongly subject to national sovereignty and the people who continue to shock. In view of these derisions, we see helplessly, a legislative body transforming into an agency for the execution of sovereign tasks which rightly belong to the executive. All this proves that we are still in a logic of promoting individuals and not democratic values.

The greatest expression of the failure of our democratic anchoring, in any case with political parties as a support for accessing power, was given to us by the strong mobilization of supporters of Commander Toumba involved in and condemned for crimes against humanity. . Would this attitude be the identical community reaction of the supporters of another leader with a heavy moral liability on the not yet clarified public space that we vainly seek to impose on the head of this Republic where the same people only have the word: virtue in the mouth?

Jesus Christ of Nazarette said: “You see the speck in your brother’s eye but not the beams that you have in your own! “. Evil is in others and never in yourself!

We will become a true Nation when we do exactly as demonstrated by the forest with the rejection of the Best Premier of Guinea: PM Eugène Camara! This beautiful lesson, still alive in the collective memory, remains the highest peak of the triumph of patriotism over communitarianism.

Finally, for his candidacy as already posed in the public square by those close to him, although it is still an early subject, the GMD is faced with his own conscience and his morality. For the Law, nothing will prevent it if the legal provisions do not prevent it.

May God guide and enlighten our steps! Amen!
