Gujarat Bridge Accident – Chinese President Xi Jinping Condolences

The 100-year-old suspension bridge across the Machu River in Morbi, Gujarat was opened for public use on the 26th after 8 months of maintenance work. However, the bridge collapsed in 5 days and caused havoc. More than 140 people died in this bridge accident and 177 people were rescued. Some are in treatment.

Condolences are being expressed from countries around the world for this tragic incident. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Dhuba, British Ambassador to India Alex Ellis, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Poland’s Foreign Minister Big New Rao among others expressed their condolences.

In this situation, Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his condolences to the families of those who died in the Gujarat bridge accident.

In this regard, in the condolence message sent by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu said, “On behalf of the Chinese government and people, I express my deepest condolences to the victims of the Gujarat bridge accident and express our deepest sympathies to their families and the injured.”
