Ahmedabad: The preliminary list of candidates for the Gujarat Assembly elections was released today. Former MLA Kandilala Amrutia, who saved many lives by jumping into the river during the Morbi bridge disaster, has been given a seat.
Elections to the 182-member Gujarat Legislative Assembly will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The election results will be announced on December 8. It is expected that in this election, there will be a three-way contest between BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party.
In this case, the first phase list containing the names of 160 candidates contesting in this election was released. Union ministers Mansukh Mandaviya, Bhupendra Yadav and state BJP president CR Patil announced the list of candidates at a press conference in Ahmedabad.
