Sharjah: A three-day weekend has been declared for government agencies in Sharjah. Holidays are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The new decision will take effect from January 1. The working hours for government employees have been increased from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm on working days. Authorities in Sharjah have decided to extend the working day to four, with another holiday on Friday. Meanwhile, the government has announced that the weekend holiday in the government sector in the UAE will be shifted to Saturday and Sunday. The working hours in the government sector will be from Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 3:30 am and on Friday from 7.30 am to 12 noon. Friday will be a holiday from noon to Sunday. The new schedule will come into effect on January 1, 2022. Friday, which is currently a weekend holiday, will now be a working day from 7.30 am to 12 noon.

Minister calls on private companies in the UAE to embrace the new change
