Body temperature should be checked daily. Do not donate blood, organ, blood or breast milk to babies if mothers are pregnant. Wash your hands thoroughly. Clothes should be washed separately. Quarantine should be housed in a single room with attached bathroom and good ventilation. No one else should use their material. Check for fever and rash.

If you notice any symptoms, call the DHA call center on 800342. Those with symptoms should go to the nearest hospital or health center. If positive, isolation measures should be taken. If negative, the 21-day quarantine should continue, DHA said.

It has been suggested that those infected should stay in the hospital until they are fully cured and those who came in close contact should stay in home quarantine for 21 days. The UAE Ministry had instructed health institutions including hospitals in the country to be alert as soon as the virus infection was reported in different parts of the world.
Monkey fever has already been confirmed in the Gulf countries of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
