The ‘Tongyeong Fish Market’, held for the first time this year, is a seafood food festival jointly held by CEO Baek Jong-won’s The Born Korea and six fisheries cooperatives in the region.
Baek Jong-won has previously been in charge of various local festivals, including Yesan, South Chungcheong Province, but this is the first festival centered on marine products.

In particular, there were no tents set up to block the rain at the outdoor tables where food was eaten, so most people left the venue with packaged food. Some people using the tables also complained of discomfort by standing while holding an umbrella while eating or sitting on a chair risking getting their clothes wet.
Mr. Yoon (in his 40s) expressed his regret, saying, “I waited for a long time to buy a roll of kimbap, but there was no place to eat, so I decided to go home.”
Mr. Oh (30s) from Cheongju said, “I came down with my friends after seeing the promotion for the festival. I am satisfied because the food is cheap and delicious, but it is disappointing that there are not enough places to eat while avoiding the rain.”
In relation to this, Tongyeong City said, “The initially predicted rainfall was small, and it was a place with strong winds, so safety accidents could occur, so after consultation with The Born Korea, we decided not to set up tents. We expect the situation to improve as the rain stops over the weekend.” “He said.
A festival official said, “This festival was prepared in collaboration with CEO Baek Jong-won to attract the attention of young people who have a low preference for seafood and to introduce new recipes to the middle-aged and older people.” He added, “Even though the weather is bad, we will present as much as we worked hard to prepare.” .
The Fishermen’s Market, which opened on this day, will run until the 3rd, and a free shuttle bus will be operated on weekends to prevent crowding at the event venue.
