SACRAMENTO – Chaos ensued in downtown Sacramento early Tuesday morning as a man was spotted waving a gun on top of a parking garage near the 300 block of L Street, prompting police response and ultimately leading to an officer-involved shooting.

At approximately 5 a.m., authorities took to Twitter to announce that a section of L Street was blocked due to a male suspect brandishing a firearm on the top floor of the DOCO parking structure. Fortunately, the officer escaped unharmed during the incident.

Following the incident, police have set up a tent and a black barrier, typically seen at scenes involving fatalities, on top of the parking garage. The status of the suspect remains unknown, with authorities yet to disclose if the individual survived the shooting.
