jpnn.comJAKARTA – Member of Commission VII DPR RI Yulian Gunhar appreciated the performance of the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) for having the courage to uncover megacorruption in the tin trading system in the PT Timah Tbk (TINS) Mining Business License (IUP) area for 2015 – 2022, in Bangka Belitung.

There are indications that state losses due to illegal tin mining activities reached IDR 271 trillion.

“We appreciate the courage of the Attorney General’s Office in uncovering the case of illegal tin mining which caused huge losses to the state, namely IDR 271 trillion,” said Gunhar, quoted from a press release, Monday (1/4).

Gunhar assessed that the uncovering of the illegal tin mining corruption case was a new record in the amount of losses for his country.

Therefore, he hopes that this case can be a momentum to uncover other big cases in the mining sector which have caused large losses to the state.

“We ask the Attorney General to be able to uncover similar cases in other mining sectors such as gold, nickel and coal. So that we can save state finances, which have been robbed,” he said.

Apart from that, the PDI Perjuangan faction legislator asked the Attorney General to be able to reveal the parties involved in this illegal tin mining case, including those who have been protecting this crime.
