The 2024 Gunpo Ollae Happiness Festival will be held in Gunpo City on October 4th and 5th.
Gunpo City has been integrating seven festivals, including the reading competition, since last year into the ‘All Come Happiness Festival’ where books, culture, art, and performances come together.
The festival is hosted by Gunpo City and organized by Gunpo Cultural Foundation, Gunpo Branch of Yejong, Gunpo Branch of Writers Association, Gunpo Craft Culture Association, and Gunpo Sijageun Library Association.
The Gunpo Citizens’ Day Commemoration Ceremony and Celebration Performance will be held on Friday, October 4th from 18:30 to 21:00 at the Citizens’ Sports Plaza. The Gunpo Citizens’ Day Commemoration Ceremony and Gunpo Citizens’ Awards Ceremony will be held. After the commemoration ceremony, a congratulatory performance is scheduled to be hosted by announcer Kim Hyun-wook. Hyorin, Park Seo-jin, Park Gun-woo, Han Dam-hee, and Bubble X are scheduled to appear as guest singers, and there will be a North Korea performance and drone light show.
The 10th Gunpo Book Fair will be held on Saturday the 5th from 10:00 to 18:00 at Sanbon Rodeo Street (Central Fountain to Sanbon Station). Preliminary events include the Reading Golden Bell, humanities lectures, and art exhibitions, and reading experience and city administration promotion booths will be operated.
The Lifelong Learning Festival will be held on Saturday the 5th from 10:00 to 18:00 at Sanbon Rodeo Street (Central Fountain to Sejong Apartment) with club participation experience programs, exhibitions, and learning games.
The Lifestyle Culture Festival will be held on Saturday the 5th from 10:00 to 18:00 at Sanbon Rodeo Street (Central Fountain to E-Mart) with club performances, experience programs, and a lifestyle art and craft market.
The Craft Culture Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday the 5th from 10:00 to 18:00 at Sanbon Rodeo Street (Central Fountain to Gunpo City Hall), with craft experiences, a craft artist market, and exhibition booths.
The Our Village Music Concert will be held on the 5th (Sat) from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the outdoor stage in front of E-Mart on Sanbon Rodeo Street. There will be a Nanta performance and performances by local artists, and comedian Kwon Jae-kwan will host the event.
The Sansa Music Festival will be held on Saturday the 5th from 13:00 to 14:30 at Suri Temple. Hosted by Ahn Gwi-young, guest singer Shin Seung-tae, traditional art group Nuri, electronic string ensemble Rapine, vocal duet, and guest singer Eun-young are scheduled to perform.
Meanwhile, the Gunpo Hanmaeum Sports Festival will be held on the 5th from 09:00 to 15:00 at the Citizen Sports Plaza. Starting with the Yongho High School Cheerleading and Rope Jumping Demonstration, 12 districts will compete in 6 events including tug-of-war and gateball. It is hosted by the Gunpo City Sports Council.
