Gunpo City Sanbon Public Health Branch announced that it will implement a mandatory fertility test support project (pre-pregnancy health care support project) for all men and women aged 20 to 49 from January 2nd.
The ‘Pre-Pregnancy Health Care Support Project’, which has been in effect since April 2024, is a project that supports the cost of essential fertility tests to detect and treat or manage health risk factors that may hinder pregnancy and childbirth.
Until 2024, this project provided support once for the entire life cycle of (prospective) couples, but from 2025, it will be provided to those aged 20 to 29 (first cycle), 30 to 34 (second cycle), and 35 to 49 (period). 3rd cycle) It will be expanded once per cycle, up to a total of 3 times.
Support is provided for two types of tests for women (ovarian function test, gynecological ultrasound) for pregnancy and one type of test for men (semen test) up to a maximum of 130,000 won per woman and 50,000 won per time for men.
Those wishing to be tested are issued a test request form by visiting the Sanbon Public Health Branch or applying online to the e-Health Center, and then visit a participating medical institution to conduct the test → Personal prepayment → Visit or claim online at the e-Health Center (attached documents: detailed statement of medical expenses, etc.) → Payment to personal account You will receive support according to the procedures.
Lim Mi-ran, head of the Sanbon Public Health Branch, said, “We hope that the expansion of this project will provide an opportunity for all those who wish to become pregnant to increase their chances of pregnancy through prior testing and to recognize the importance of health care before pregnancy.” “Through this management, we will be able to prevent infertility and plan for a healthy pregnancy and childbirth.”
Meanwhile, Gunpo City revised the Gunpo City Parking Lot Installation and Management Ordinance to promote smooth implementation of urban improvement projects such as redevelopment and reconstruction projects underway in the original downtown.
According to Gunpo City, through the recent full revision of the “Gunpo City Parking Lot Installation and Management Ordinance,” among complex construction projects under the Parking Lot Act, residential environment improvement projects, redevelopment projects, and reconstruction projects under the Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act are subject to the project site area. This was changed so that if the area is less than 50,000 square meters, it can be excluded from the obligation to install off-street parking.
Previously, all complex development projects, including maintenance projects, required the installation of off-street parking lots of more than 1% of the business site area. However, since most of the maintenance projects being promoted by Gunpo City have an area of 50,000 square meters or less, all maintenance project areas must be of a certain size or more. There were concerns that installing an off-street parking lot could lead to difficulties in establishing a reasonable land use plan and maintenance plan and excessive donation collection.
Accordingly, the revision of this ordinance is expected to provide the possibility of establishing a reasonable maintenance plan in the maintenance project area with an area of 50,000 square meters or less and to increase momentum in the promotion of the maintenance project by alleviating the burden on residents in the area.
