Around four in the morning, there was a large police operation on Mellingerstrasse in Baden, near the Hotel Linde. As “Blick” reports, the officers were heavily armed and arrests were made.

The cantonal police of Aargau confirmed the incident to the Aargauer Zeitung. “There was a dispute between two men, the context of which is still unclear,” said Daniel Saridis, spokesperson for the Kapo Aargau. “Shots were fired.” The police found an injured male person on site, who had to be taken to the hospital. The injured individual is a 34-year-old Swiss man.

“Based on initial findings and statements from witnesses, one individual quickly came into focus for the search,” said the police. A 33-year-old Swiss man from the area was arrested shortly after the incident at his residence. The public prosecutor’s office has opened proceedings, and the cantonal police of Aargau have initiated investigations.

The extensive documentation of the crime scene resulted in Mellingerstrasse being closed between the Burghalde roundabout and the Schulhausplatz intersection for several hours. Traffic was diverted by the Baden fire department. (cwu)
