Gurgaon : As the election battle approaches, all the candidates have started campaigning. Even though 15 wrestlers have entered the electoral fray in the state’s largest assembly Badshahpur, only three candidates are seen in the race so far. The rest of the party or independent candidates may be contesting the elections, but their influence will not be much, political experts are saying so. Former cabinet minister Rao Narbir Singh is contesting on a BJP ticket in Badshahpur. At the same time, Congress has fielded young face Vardhan Yadav. Apart from this, Kumudni, wife of late Rakesh Daulatabad, who became MLA from this seat in 2019, is contesting as an independent from here. She had sought a ticket from the BJP, but did not get it. Kumudni made the contest interesting by entering the fray as an independent. Apart from these three, the remaining 12 candidates are also in the fray, but it will have to be seen on Monday how many candidates withdraw their nominations and how many remain in the fray.
Yadav voters will play a role in victory
Badshahpur seat of Gurgaon is the assembly constituency with the highest number of voters in the state. It has 5 lakh 5 thousand 789 voters. Out of these, 2 lakh 25 thousand 537 are male and 2 lakh 5 thousand 335 are female voters. There are also 21 third gender voters in this assembly. BJP candidate Rao Narbir has been an MLA from this seat before. He has also been the Public Works Minister in the state government. He could not get a ticket in 2019. This time Rao Narbir Singh is contesting the elections again. This assembly has the highest number of Yadav voters. Apart from this, he has been doing politics in this assembly for a long time.
The crown of victory was tied on the head of an independent
Vardhan Yadav is contesting the election from Yadav community on Congress ticket. He is a member of All India Congress Committee. His name was also ahead from Gurgaon seat in Lok Sabha elections, but he could not get the ticket. This time the party has expressed confidence in this young face. Rakesh Daulatabad became MLA from this assembly in 2019. He died of a heart attack during the Lok Sabha elections this year. Now his wife Kumudni is contesting as an independent from here. If we talk about caste voters, then apart from Dhanwapur, Daulatabad, the number of Jat voters is high in many villages and societies. Apart from this, he can also get sympathy votes.
Triangular contest expected
After the elimination, 15 candidates are in the fray for this seat. Bir Singh of Aam Aadmi Party is also trying his luck here, but political experts say that a triangular contest can be seen here between Rao Narbir Singh of BJP, Vardhan Yadav of Congress and independent Kumudni. Now it remains to be seen which of these three wrestlers wins the election. Apart from this, due to withdrawal of nominations on Monday, it will also have to be seen how many candidates withdraw their nominations.
