In relation to the main office of Gyeonggi Housing and Communities Corporation (GH), which is scheduled to be relocated to Guri City (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyeon), the “Guri Urban Management Plan (Use Area)” was approved at the deliberation of the ‘Gyeonggi-do Urban Planning (Subcommittee) Committee’ held in Gyeonggi-do on December 20. “Decision (change) (draft)” was passed conditionally.

The relocation of Gyeonggi Housing and Communities Corporation (GH) to Guri City is one of the relocations of affiliated public institutions to the northern part of Gyeonggi Province to promote balanced development between regions and the construction of insufficient administrative infrastructure in the northern region, and is a natural green area around 990-1 Topyeong-dong. Part of In Topyeong Neighborhood Park will be rezoned and relocated to a semi-residential area, and the remaining part will be created as a children’s park.

In the deliberation on this day, the ‘Gyeonggi-do Urban Planning (Subcommittee)’ conditionally decided to announce the decision on the urban management plan (use area) after confirming whether or not to proceed with the project through the Gyeonggi Provincial Council’s resolution of the new investment project promotion motion.

Guri Mayor Baek Gyeong-hyeon said, “We actively welcome the Gyeonggi-do Urban Planning (Subcommittee) Committee’s decision to change the use zone.” He added, “As Gyeonggi-do Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, ‘The relocation of public institutions, which is a promise to northern residents, will proceed as promised,’ the city is also making visible and “We will carefully manage the progress and actively promote it to achieve results that citizens can feel through the speedy relocation of the Gyeonggi Housing and Communities Corporation (GH),” he said.

Meanwhile, Guri City (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyeon) announced on the 3rd that it had secured 3.86 billion won in special adjustment grants from Gyeonggi Province.

The target projects are: ▲ Construction of an observation walkway (deck) within the embankment of Wangsukcheon Stream (KRW 500 million) ▲ Project to improve pedestrian paths for the transportation vulnerable (KRW 700 million) ▲ Improvement of the heating and cooling environment at the Guri City General Social Welfare Center (KRW 260 million) ▲ Installation of a planetarium at the Inchang Library Observatory (KRW 500 million) ▲Citizen’s Stadium artificial turf soccer field construction project (KRW 1.2 billion) There are a total of 8 projects, including ▲Wangsukcheon Disabled Park Golf Course environment improvement project (KRW 150 million) ▲Artificial turf replacement project at Guri Square (KRW 200 million) ▲Installation of LED disaster publicity display board at the bottom of Topyeong Bridge (KRW 350 million).

In addition, by securing this grant, we will be able to smoothly promote the installation of a promenade deck on the embankment of Wangsukcheon Stream at 306-5, Sutaek-dong and the installation of an LED disaster publicity display board in connection with the project to create a lighting gallery under Topyeong Bridge, making Wangsukcheon more comfortable for citizens. It is expected that people will be able to travel safely and enjoy rest and leisure.

In addition, a planetarium that can observe during the day or in rainy weather will be installed at the Inchang Library Astronomical Observatory, which will officially open on the 13th, and the artificial turf in Guri Square near Guri Station on Subway Line 8 will be replaced, greatly contributing to citizens’ cultural experience and health promotion. It is a prospect.

In addition, we have secured budgets for various projects such as replacing old cooling and heating systems in the comprehensive social welfare center, installing portable toilets in the park golf course for the disabled near Wangsukcheon, replacing old fences and installing a smart crosswalk system in 10 places, including around Topyeong Elementary School, to help the socially disadvantaged. The plan is to lay the foundation for establishing a device that can provide greater protection.

Guri Mayor Baek Gyeong-hyeon said, “I am pleased to have secured a special adjustment grant from Gyeonggi-do in a situation where the city’s finances are not good due to internal and external economic uncertainties,” and added, “We are moving forward with the project quickly to ensure the safety of citizens and improve the quality of life.” “I will do my best,” he said.
