Guro-gu is promoting comprehensive measures for the summer of 2024. Guro-gu (Chief Mun Mun-il) is promoting the ‘Comprehensive Summer Plan for 2024’ to ensure a healthy and safe summer for all residents.

These measures will be implemented for five months from May 15 to October 15 across four areas, including heat wave measures, flood defense measures, safety measures, and health measures.

The district is pursuing △comprehensive heat wave and flood prevention measures to proactively respond △customized protection and support measures that realize the value of companionship △well-thought-out safety and disaster measures to eradicate various accidents △lifestyle health and medical measures that residents can experience etc. were decided.

What has changed from this year is that heat wave reduction facilities have been expanded and support measures for heat wave vulnerable groups have been strengthened.

First of all, in preparation for heat waves, shade canopies will be installed at 7 additional locations this year, including 5 parasol types and 2 smart types, for a total of 163 locations.

The number of people eligible for heat wave customized care services for the elderly has expanded to 1,259, an increase of 37 compared to last year, and a total of 97 heat wave disaster helpers are active, an increase of 8 from last year.

Preliminary inspections will be strengthened for 257 heat shelters, and if they do not comply with operating standards, measures such as refunding support funds or de-designation will be taken.

In addition, starting this year, the ‘pre-reinforcement’ stage has been added before the ‘reinforcement’ stage in the storm and flood emergency work system to ensure rapid response in case of emergency, and flood prevention facilities such as submersible pumps, backflow prevention facilities, and water barriers have been significantly expanded.

Support for residents affected by flooding has also increased. Disaster relief items such as emergency relief sets, cooking relief sets, and blankets to be provided to victims have been added, and the criteria for exceptional support for emergency recovery costs for unregistered small business owners have been removed to more quickly restore damaged facilities and support the stability of the lives of affected residents.

The standards for providing disaster relief funds to businesses that have signed up for storm and flood damage insurance, which compensates for property damage caused by natural disasters such as typhoons, heavy rain, and floods, have also been specified.

Previously, disaster relief funds could not be provided to businesses that had simply subscribed to storm and flood damage insurance, but the text was changed to say that disaster relief funds were not available for disaster damage to objects (buildings, facilities, machinery, inventory, etc.) insured by wind and flood damage insurance, causing confusion. We have improved it to provide detailed support without any problems.

In addition, 76 additional mobile unmanned surveillance cameras for illegal dumping will be installed to strengthen waste management during the holiday season.

To prevent food poisoning and ensure food safety, the food poisoning epidemiological investigation team will be expanded from 7 to 11 people, and the inspection target for schools, kindergartens, and cafeterias will be expanded from 70 last year to 97 this year to strengthen safety management for children, who are vulnerable to food poisoning. .

Guro-gu Mayor Mun Il-il said, “In order to effectively implement comprehensive measures for the summer, we have strengthened and supplemented the existing plans in a more thorough and thorough way,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that all residents of the district can have a healthy and safe summer.” .
