Guro-gu is promoting the 2024 Chuseok Comprehensive Measures for a ‘Safe and Comfortable Chuseok.’ Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that it will promote the ‘2024 Chuseok Comprehensive Measures’ for 7 days from September 13 to 19 to ensure that all residents can have a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday.

This comprehensive plan consists of five areas: △safety measures △transportation measures △solving inconveniences in daily life △sharing warm holidays △establishing public service discipline.

First, the district will operate a comprehensive situation room consisting of the Disaster Site Integrated Support Headquarters, Road Facility Maintenance Mobile Team, Flood Damage Countermeasure Team, Park and Green Space Situation Room, Parking and Stopping Crackdown Team, Cleaning Countermeasure Team, and Public Health Center Medical Information Team. During the comprehensive countermeasure implementation period, 451 workers will be assigned to respond quickly to residents’ inconveniences.

In particular, safety inspections will be conducted on apartment complexes, housing construction sites, disaster risk facilities, and construction sites, and public facilities such as movie theaters, performance and cultural facilities, sports facilities, large stores, and traditional markets will be inspected intensively to ensure the safety of residents.

The public health center will set up and operate a medical information desk from the 14th to the 18th to provide information on medical institutions and pharmacies that are available for treatment during the holiday period and to take swift action in the event of an emergency medical accident.

In addition, a traffic situation room will be operated from the 13th to the 19th to oversee traffic conditions and provide various traffic information. From 10 PM on the 13th to 2 AM on the 14th, when the holiday begins, special crackdowns on violations of commercial vehicle laws will be conducted at major stations in the area, and to promote the use of traditional markets, parking and stopping around six traditional markets will be temporarily relaxed from 10 AM to 5 PM on the 13th to the 19th.

To prevent inconvenience to residents due to household waste, the cleaning situation room and mobile cleaning team will be operated from the 14th to the 18th. During the holiday, areas where waste is disposed on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday will have restrictions on disposal on September 17th, so disposal will be done after 8 PM on September 19th. Areas where waste is disposed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will have restrictions on disposal on September 16th, so disposal will be done after 8 PM on September 18th.

We have also prepared price stabilization measures to reduce the burden of prices in the shopping carts of residents. From the 13th to the 19th, the price stabilization situation room will be operated to establish order in the trading of Chuseok seasonal products. The Guro Hanmadang Market to celebrate Chuseok will be held for two days on the 11th and 12th at the Guro-gu Office Plaza, and various events will be held at traditional markets such as Garibong Market (9th-11th), Gocheok Alley Shopping Street (9th-13th), Namguro Market (11th-12th), Gocheok Neighborhood Market (12th-14th), and Guro Market (13th).

To help the underprivileged who are even more lonely during the holidays, we will deliver relief items to social welfare facilities and underprivileged families, and operate a ‘period of intensive well-being check-up’ for 3,153 households, including households at risk of social isolation, for 12 days from the 9th to the 20th.

A Guro-gu official said, “We will implement comprehensive measures as planned without a hitch so that all residents can enjoy a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday without inconvenience.”
