jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The caretaker of Mambaul Maarif Denanyar Jombang, KH Abdussalam Shohib or Gus Salam, responded casually to the news that the Ansor Youth Movement would disband the Nahdlatul Ulama Extraordinary Congress or MLB NU.
According to him, what the kiai will do cannot be disbanded, because freedom of association and opinion is regulated by law.
“If anyone comes to MLB, whether they agree or disagree, or even have the intention to disband it, we will invite them to drink coffee, have a discussion and of course recite the Koran,” he said.
Gus Salam asserted that the MLB will be called scientifically and morally based so that it does not require care.
He also ensured that he would not stop fighting for the good of NU, Nahdlatul Ulama, and the Indonesian people.
Gus Salam said, whatever the challenges and obstacles will be faced.
“All threats, intimidation, and violence should not be responded to with the same thing, but responded to with gentleness, affection and wisdom. We hope that Ansor, Banser, and Pagar Nusa will be wiser,” he said.
Gus Salam reminded that the task of Ansor, Banser, and Pagar Nusa is to protect the ulama both structurally and culturally without discriminating between ijtihad in organizing.
