jpnn.comJAKARTA – Secretary of the Central Java (Jateng) PKB, Sukirman, responded to the statement by the Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), Yahya Cholil Staquf, who compared the PKB to a broken-down car.
Sukirman stated that the statement by the man familiarly known as Gus Yahya was baseless slander.
According to Sukirman, PKB is currently a major party in the regions and nationally. It even has many legislative seats.
“That is a form of slander. The proof is that PKB’s seats have increased, then in the Indonesian House of Representatives, its seats have also increased by 10, then in the Central Java Regional People’s Representative Councils, it has also increased throughout Indonesia,” he said, after reporting the former PKB Secretary General, Muhammad Lukman Edy to the Central Java Regional Police on suspicion of defamation and slander, Tuesday (6/8).
He also denied that PKB was not a failed product as Gus Yahya had accused. According to him, PKB’s success in the simultaneous elections last February made his party a well-known party.
“(PKB) is not a failed product. PKB is shining today. Number four, yes, a big party. In Central Java, it is still number 2,” said Sukirman.
However, he was reluctant to respond to Gus Yahya’s desire to take over PKB. He left it to PKB General Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar.
“That will be the authority of the DPP (PKB, ed.) later,” said Sukirman, who is also Deputy Chair of the Central Java DPRD.
Sukirman said that Gus Yahya’s statement about the analogy of a PKB broken car was slander.
