Gustav Klimt’s ‘Lady with a Fan’ Breaks European Auction Record

The painting by the famous Austrian painter sold on Tuesday in London at an auction organized by Sotheby’s. It was sold for 74 million pounds, or more than 86 million euros. A sum that exceeds estimates and beats the European record, which was held by “Walking Man I”, a sculpture by Alberto Giacometti sold in 2010 at 65 million pounds.
