Audi Hungaria announces the “Next Level” in Technical Development. The drive development department, which was previously responsible for the development of combustion engines and electric motors, now extends to the entire driving system.
Technical development has existed in Győr since 2001. From now on, the portfolio includes development activities for the development of drive modules, powertrain application, the integration of drive systems in vehicles and the development of chassis systems – this means that in future the employees will also be responsible for the development of longitudinal, lateral and vertical dynamics individual drive platforms of the Audi and VW Group.

“Audi Hungaria has been developing continuously for 30 years. Technical Development already carries out development projects for the entire Audi and VW Group with more than 550 experts. As part of our strategy, we are taking this segment to the next level, to the “next level”, said Alfons Dintner, CEO of Audi Hungaria Zrt.
“Our technical development is already the third largest development center in the Audi Group. With the further expansion of our competencies, we as developers are now taking responsibility for complete driving systems for our customers,” said Thorsten Pfeffer, Head of Driving System Development.
Focus on drive modules and driving systems
In the future, the experts in Győr will focus not only on the drive modules but also on the driving systems. They are constantly developing properties that customers feel as dynamics in the vehicle: longitudinal, vertical and lateral dynamics. The development engineers have many years of experience and strong skills in the field of combustion engines. As part of the transformation, they have also expanded their development activities to include vehicles with electric drives. A modern test field with drive test benches for combustion engines and electric motors is available to them.
