Gypsy Rose Blanchard Credits Taylor Swift’s Music for Helping Her Through Prison Sentence

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was released on parole after serving a 7-year prison sentence for her role in the 2015 stabbing death of her mother, has credited Taylor Swift’s music for helping her get through her time behind bars. Blanchard, now 32, admitted to orchestrating her mother’s murder to escape years of abuse and hopes to meet her idol, Taylor Swift, at an upcoming Kansas City Chiefs game.

Blanchard revealed that she plans to attend the Chiefs game on December 31 in the hopes of meeting Swift, who will be there to support her beau, Travis Kelce. If the plan does not work out, Blanchard also plans to attend Swift’s Eras Tour next fall in New Orleans.

Blanchard’s story is a tragic one, as she was forced by her mother to pretend she was suffering from various medical complications due to her mother’s Munchhausen by proxy syndrome. The truth only came out after Blanchard’s then-boyfriend stabbed Dee Dee to death in their Missouri home in June 2015.

Blanchard’s account of her life, titled “Released: Conversations on the Eve of Freedom,” is set for publication next month. Despite the hardships she has faced, Blanchard is now looking towards the future and hoping to finally meet the artist whose music helped her find solace during her time in prison.
