In real life, however, she has been happy with her husband Marc Schubring for 25 years. To mark their silver wedding anniversary, the 54-year-old is now giving deep insights into her private life.
In an interview with “dwdl.de”, Ulrike Frank raved about the past two decades with her husband: “It’s much better than I ever dreamed.” Time has flown by and they are still a loving couple and a strong team that goes through life together.
Frank also admitted that it was not always easy to combine work and private life. For creative people in particular, there is often no clear end time, which brings with it both challenges and opportunities. Nevertheless, she and Schubring have always worked on not drifting apart and letting each other participate.
In the interview, the actress also spoke about how her understanding of love has changed over the years. “For me, love is unconditional, without expectations or pressure,” she explained. Love is a gift and a miracle that she is grateful for every day.
Ulrike Frank explained that her character in the series had far less luck in love than she did, based on her character and strokes of fate: “Katrin is a very complex personality who cannot allow feelings and closeness so quickly.” Her character lost her great love, Till “Bommel” Kuhn, in a tragic way and has been struggling with the consequences ever since.
For her personal future, the actress wishes for one thing above all else: to grow “old and frail” together with her husband Marc Schubring. “Marc is the best thing that could have happened to me,” she enthused. She is looking forward to finding out together what life still has to offer them.
