Hacker attack on the Green Party chairmen Ricarda Lang and Omid Nouripour – Domestic politics

by time news

The Greens have been the victims of hacker attacks several times in the past few weeks. The “Spiegel” reported on Thursday. Cyber criminals also gained access to the e-mail accounts of chairmen Omid Nouripour (46) and Ricarda Lang (28).

The unknown attackers managed to get into the party e-mail accounts of the two politicians and sometimes forwarded e-mails to an external server. It is still unclear who picked up the news. Nothing is known about the extent and duration of the attack.

It cannot be ruled out that a state actor was behind the attack, writes the “Spiegel‘ citing security sources.

The attack on the chairperson’s e-mail accounts had already taken place on May 30th. After the incident, the Greens are said to have informed the authorities and filed a criminal complaint. The Berlin State Criminal Police Office and the Federal Criminal Police Office have started investigations.

Earlier this week, the “Green Network”, an internal party platform, was attacked. The network has been restricted since Monday, a party spokeswoman told Der Spiegel. The platform is used, among other things, to exchange views on negotiating positions within the traffic light coalition.
