jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) released the finalist list of leaders involved in the most corrupt and organized crimes in the world, Tuesday, December 31 2024.
Of the names released, Jokowi is one of the five finalists with the most votes in 2024.
The names nominated and received votes are proposed and come from readers, journalists, jury members and other parties in the OCCRP global network.
Responding to this, the Founder of the Haidar Alwi Institute (HAI) R Haidar Alwi said that all forms of crime cannot be proven by polls or opinion polls.
“Proof of crimes or violations of the law is through trials in court. Not through polls or opinion polls,” said Haidar, Wednesday (1/1).
According to him, to date there has not been a single court decision that found Jokowi guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption. Allegations of organized crime in the presidential election to win one of the candidate pairs were also not proven at the Constitutional Court (MK).
“If the methodology is correct, the OCCRP jury should not have passed Jokowi’s proposed name. Because, how can you include someone’s name on the list when there has not been a single court decision that found him guilty of the alleged crime? This is clearly a real mistake, ” said Haidar.
Therefore, the predicate that OCCRP has attached to Jokowi is only an unfounded suggestion from voting rights holders in polls or opinion polls. As a result, it could damage Jokowi’s reputation and good name in the eyes of the Indonesian people, and even the world.
Haidar Alwi Institute founder R Haidar Alwi criticized OCCRP research which made Jokowi a finalist for the most corrupt leader in 2024.
