jpnn.comJAKARTA – Deputy General Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid or Gus Jazil responded to the accusations of the General Chairperson of PBNU Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya who suspected that the 2024 Hajj Inquiry Committee rolled out by the Indonesian House of Representatives was for personal gain.

Gus Jazil said the DPR had stages before the 2024 Hajj Special Committee was formed, such as party approval in parliament in a plenary meeting.

He said the approval from the parties in the DPR indicated that the formation of the 2024 Hajj Special Committee was not based on personal motives.

“Not only PKB, all political parties. It was decided in a plenary session. Where is the personal one? So, the accusation of personal interests, in my opinion, is an accusation that insults the plenary session’s decision,” said Gus Jazil answering media crews at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (30/7).

However, he said, the 2024 Hajj Special Committee is the DPR’s constitutional right which should be respected and challenge those who accuse to prove their statements.

“That is the implementation of the constitution that must be respected. If there are parties who suspect that, please prove it,” said Gus Jazil.

The legislator from Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives reminded that there was a violation in the form of insulting parliament when the accusations against the 2024 Hajj Special Committee were not proven later.

“If it is not proven, then it is contempt of parliament. It disrupts the performance of DPR members,” said Gus Jazil.
