Health Minister Ong Yi Kang says half of Singapore’s population (51 percent) has been vaccinated with the booster boost.

In a post he posted on his Facebook page on Sunday (January 16), he said Singapore had reached a new milestone in its vaccination program.

He pointed out that more and more people are coming forward to get the Covit-19 booster vaccine, adding, “Approximately 42,000 people are vaccinated with the booster vaccine every day. In the second half of last December, 25,000 people were vaccinated daily with the booster vaccine. The current number is significantly higher than that, ”he said.

He said booster vaccines uphold vaccine protection against Covit-19 infection and the serious disease that Omigran strain can cause.

Meanwhile, 956 new cases of Covit-19 were confirmed in Singapore, the Ministry of Health said on Saturday (January 15) night.

The number of new cases of Omigron infection is 692.
