More than half (specifically 53.5%) of Spanish employees are willing to change jobs, even immediately this year, and almost two out of three (61.3%) consider that his current salary does not meet his expectations, according to the ‘Study of Trends in Human Resources’ prepared by the multinational professional services Sodexo.

The willingness to change jobs is higher among ‘millennials’ (born between 1981 and 1993) and ‘Generation Z’ (between 1994 and 2010), where 63% are considering changing jobs this year and 11% are actively seeking another post. By contrast, 68% of ‘baby boomers’ (those born between the late 50s and 70s of the last century) say they do not want to change jobs.

For workers open to a new position, almost 70% affirm that the salary is the main motivation for the change, since 53% of them do not expect to receive a salary increase in their current job. The possibility of obtaining greater flexibility and reconciliation options (31.3%) is the next factor that would determine their change of employment.

On the other hand, 34.5% of employees say they feel “little or not valued” in their job, while only 16% say they are “highly valued.” The salary, the characteristics of the work performed and the work environment are the main factors that influence whether workers feel comfortable in a company.

Likewise, among the business benefits that companies usually offer, the best valued are health insurance (for 46.2%), flexible hours (41.8%), food cards (39.8%), contributions to pension plans (34.6%) and having the possibility of teleworking (34.6%).

44.8% of Spanish companies already offer this kind of benefits to their employees and among those that do not yet have them, 11.7% plan to implement them this year.
