On the sidelines of Christopher Street Day in Halle, several participants in the demonstration for the rights of queer people were attacked and injured. A 41-year-old had to be treated in hospital.
After the Christopher Street Day in Halle an der Saale, several participants were attacked and injured by a group of men on Saturday. Three victims of the attack were treated by rescue workers on site, a 41-year-old who was seriously injured came to a hospital for further treatment, the Halle police said on Sunday.
The CSD participants were initially approached and insulted by four men on Saturday evening. The group was then attacked with punches and kicks. Police caught two of the suspected thugs nearby and launched an investigation into the suspects, aged between 16 and 20.

On Saturday, thousands of people took to the streets in Halle for the rights of homosexual and queer people. According to the police, the event was largely peaceful, and there were repeated insults between participants in the parade and counter-demonstrators.
