Canto died after a secret battle with a very rare cancer of the appendix. “Few people knew how deep Adan’s spirit was. It changed those who had the chance to know it forever. He will be missed tremendously by a lot of people.” the actor’s spokesperson said in a statement to the media.
“We are devastated by the news of Adana Cant’s death. He was a great actor and a dear friend that we were privileged to have in the Warner Bros. family. Television and Fox Entertainment since his American series debut Followers of evil more than ten years ago” presented by Fox Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television in a statement to TheWrap.
The last role in which he became known to the audience was the gangster Arman Morales in the new series Cleaning woman. Canto starred in the first two series, but then could not continue filming due to health problems. However, he planned to return.
“The last time he shone in Cleaning lady, where his powerful performance showed his artistry, range, depth and vulnerability. This is an incomprehensible loss for us and we mourn alongside his wife Stephanie, their children and loved ones. We will miss Adan very much.” said the actor’s former employers.
Even Halle Berry is crying
Hollywood star Halle Berry (57) also mourns her late colleague. They starred together in a movie ten years ago X-Men: Future Pastwhere Berry played Storm and Canto portrayed Sunspot.
The actress shared a photo of her industry friend on her Instagram profile (which has over 8.6 million followers) with the heart-wrenching caption: “I have no words yet… but my dear, sweet friend Adan has just earned his wings. You will be in my heart forever.”
The last time both actors appeared together was in 2020 in a film Bruisesin which Berry not only starred, but even directed it.
He is survived by two small children
Apart from acting, Adan Canto has also directed two short films and sang and wrote his own songs before turning to acting.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Cant, and two young children, son Roman (3½) and daughter Eve Josephine (1½).
