New Delhi: The rule that all types of gold jewelery should now be sold under the ‘Hallmark’ stamp came into effect from yesterday.
Under the rules of the Indian Standards Institution, only 6 types of pure gold jewelery were required to receive the Hallmark. That is, the hallmark was required only for 14,18,20,22,23,24 carat gold jewelry. 19, 21 carat jewelry was not required.
But, since yesterday, the Hallmark logo has been mandatory for all types of carrot jewelry. The announcement was made on April 4 by the Standards Institution of India.
