10. Freddy Krueger from Nightmare
Definitely don’t fall asleep! Because then comes Freddy Krueger. His burn scarred face and the blades at the end of his fingers make him a popular villain – especially as a costume idea.
The villain’s story: Freddy’s mother was a nun and he was the result of a brutal rape. Rejected by society and abused by his adoptive father, Freddy became a sociopath and killed twenty neighborhood children. The residents take vigilante justice: They lock Freddy in a cellar full of gasoline and set him alive on fire!
Freddy Krueger lives on in the dreams of the Elm Street children. Only those who can control their dreams make it out alive. Absolutely creepy!
9. Hannibal Lector from The Silence of the Lambs
In 1992, Anthony Hopkins played Dr. Hannibal Lecter, the cannibal, wrote horror film history. His level-headed appearance and cool manner ensured that the cannibal is celebrated as an unforgettable villain.

Chucky’s real name is Charles Lee Ray. The doll from the cult film “Chucky – Die Mörderpuppe” (originally: “Child’s Play”, children’s play) is possessed by the spirit of a serial killer by means of a voodoo curse. And then the terror begins.

This doll has it all! Did you know that the cursed doll “Annabelle” really exists? Haunting duo Ed and Lorraine Warren (the inspiration behind all the Conjuring and Annabelle films) claim they found the demon doll in a college dorm.

Michael Myers begins his murder spree at the age of 6. Even his psychiatrist is afraid of him: evil lurks in this boy!
His white mask and kitchen knife are part of the costume, but his slow gait makes him really creepy: Michael is never in a hurry with his victims, because he knows he’ll get them!
