Halloween festivities are a real event for many Washington residents, who transform their garden into a museum of fear.

And it all costs money! “For large formats, it costs 300 to 400 dollars”so not far from 400 euros, specifies Rebecca. “And every year, prices increase”, she regrets. But no matter, she continues to buy more and more every year.
So, obviously, not all Washington residents fall into excess. And not everyone decorates their garden. Some people just opt for the good old pumpkin. Frédéric, a Frenchman who has lived in the United States for more than 20 years, sells them on the side of the road: there are all colors, all sizes, and all prices too, from around two to twenty euros each. . And they go like hot cakes. “They buy two, three, four, six pumpkins or ten pumpkins”he says.
“There are the moms who try to make pumpkin pyramids. And then there are the dads who come in and say ‘I’ll take the biggest one’.”

You have to fill your trunk, the bed of your pick-up or your trailer. Last weekend, Frédéric sold nearly 900 pumpkins. “It’s gigantic proportions.”notes the Frenchie, which puts forward the figure of at least 12,000 euros in one weekend. A very big business.
