Ham So-won announced on the 16th through a live broadcast on social media that she had divorced her Chinese husband Jin Hua (30). He said, “It was 99% a decision for Hye-jeong (daughter),” and “my first goal was to not show my parents fighting.” Ham So-won said, “I grew up in a family that fought a lot when I was young. I often thought about wanting to live in a quiet house without fighting. However, I have a hasty personality and Jin Hua also has a personality that needs to confirm his love, so we fought a lot.”
Recently, Ham So-won and Jin Hua have repeatedly made controversial remarks on social media, sparking rumors of discord. On the 6th, Jin Hua uploaded a photo of himself bleeding after being assaulted by Ham So-won. He then immediately changed his position and said, “Ham So-won is not a bad person.” Two days later, Ham So-won was promoting a product on a live broadcast, but when she read a comment from her daughter asking, “Where is your husband?” she abruptly ended the broadcast.
Ham So-won said that she had a lot of worries before announcing the news of her divorce and apologized for announcing it so late. She said, “Because I’m older, I always thought that I was the head of this family and that I was responsible for everything,” and “I thought a lot about how to tell you about my divorce.” She added, “I can’t tell you everything here, but I’ll go to Korea before Chuseok in September and meet with reporters to talk about the details. I apologize for telling you this so late.”
However, Ham So-won said that she would consider reuniting if her daughter wanted it. She said, “I am divorced with Jin-hwa on paper, but we have been together for a long time. I cannot say for sure what will happen in the future right now,” and “I do not know what will happen on paper again.” She added, “I am looking at Hye-jeong’s situation and the overall situation.”
Ham So-won married Jin Hua in 2017 and gave birth to a daughter the following year. She revealed her married life on TV Chosun’s entertainment program ‘Taste of Wife’, but stopped broadcasting in March 2021 when controversy over manipulation arose.
