/ Hamas announced on Tuesday that it had submitted its response to Qatar and Egypt regarding the “framework” agreement on a prisoner swap deal with Israel.
A statement by the movement, seen by Agency, stated that it “soon delivered its response regarding the framework agreement to the brothers in Qatar and Egypt, after completing the leadership consultations in the movement and with the resistance factions.”
She added that she “dealt with the proposal in a positive spirit that guarantees a comprehensive and complete ceasefire, ending the aggression against our people, ensuring relief, shelter, reconstruction, lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip, and completing a prisoner exchange process.”
The movement appreciated the role of Egypt, Qatar and all countries seeking to stop the “brutal aggression”, noting that it “is continuing with all forces and factions in defending its people on the path to ending the occupation and achieving their legitimate national rights in their land and holy sites.”
For its part, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted Israeli officials as saying, “Israel is analyzing Hamas’ response to the agreement to release the kidnapped soldiers and formulating an official response.”
“On the surface, Hamas said ‘yes’ to the framework, but it set impossible conditions,” Israeli officials said. “In any case, Israel will not stop the fighting. Under impossible circumstances, Hamas’s response is like a negative response.”
