Israeli First Responders Analyze GoPro Footage from Slain Hamas Fighters

The recovered footage shows a fuller picture of the atrocities committed by the group, including the murder and hostage-taking of civilians.
The use of body cameras by terrorists is not a new phenomenon. Islamic State extremists and other terrorists have also used footage from their attacks for propaganda purposes, often filmed from a first-person perspective. Peter Bergen, a CNN national security analyst, described the use of GoPro cameras by Hamas fighters as the “next evolution of propaganda.” He noted that many of the fighters in the footage were young men in their 20s who are comfortable with social media and live in a social media world.
